Over delayed implementation of agreements reached, the Federal Government negotiating team on Tuesday met with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, to discuss the ways forward.
Mr. Wale Babalakin, the head of the Federal Government negotiating team, said the meeting was to kick start the implementation of the renegotiated agreement with a timetable submitted by ASUU.
He further stated that the Federal Government said ASUU submitted a timetable with over 20 issues when it suspended strike in January 2019.
Babalakin dismissed the issue of a potential strike in the course of the implementation of the agreement.
Key among the agreements is the March 2019 commencement of visitation to universities, which has suffered a delay due to a shift in the dates of Nigeria’s general elections and supplementary polls.
