The lawmakers during plenary, received a letter from the president Muhammad Buhari on Thursday, concerning the National minimum wage Bill.
The deputy senate president Mr. Ike Ekweremadu on Thursday read out a letter from the president, the content of the letter to the the lawmakers proposes a minimum wage of N27,000 for workers.
Ahmed Lawan, Senate leader, moved for the speedy passage of the bill because of its importance.
He further asked the Senate to suspend its rules and pass the bill through first and second reading immediately.
To the proposed request by the Senate leader, the Senate without dissent agreed to his suggestion and the minimum wage bill was debated upon in the chamber.
