Pakistan Supermodel, Zara Abid was on board, in the ill-fated, and Pakistan International Airlines, PIA, aircraft, Airbus A320, which had 98 persons on bard, that crashed while approaching an airport in the southern Pakistan city of Karachi.
The aircraft which crashed as a result of a failed engine, crashed into a residential neighbourhood as it approached the airport in Karachi, is said to have supermodel, Zara on board.
Although, two persons are said to have been reported to have been pulled out alive, one which included a bank executive was pulled out of the wreckage alive.
The passengers’ manifest of the flight issued to the media, reveals that supermodel, Zara Abid also was on board, in the Airbus A320 passenger airliner that crashed.
According to media reports, Yousuf Meeran, Health ministry spokeswoman, reveals that over 80 people have died, with 48 bodies kept at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi’s largest government hospital, and 32 at Civil Hospital Karachi, another major state-run hospital.
Yousuf said two survivors were being treated at the hospitals in Karachi, while 17 bodies have been identified so far.
At least six people who were on the ground when the airliner crashed into houses in the densely populated Model Colony area of Karachi, adjacent to the city’s international airport, were being treated for their injuries, she added.
