A man identified as Olumide Mc Anelka Adebayo has taken to Facebook to narrate his experience over an interview he was invited to and after driving several hours from Ekiti to Lagos, he was told at the venue that the message he received was sent by error.
In his narration he states that the interview he was invited for was for commissioners interview @ the Civil Service Commission which was scheduled to hold on Wednesday 12th February, 2020 @Appointment department.
He then started up early on the 11th of February and drove down to Lagos, he drove for 3 hours, a journey which took 5 hours, he risked his life just to make sure he was there on time.
On getting to the Commission he realized that his name was not on the pasted list, so he made inquiries from the admin officers on what would caused it, after the officer went through the master list, he shacked his head in pity and told him “Sorry, the text you received was by error”, and that he was not qualified.
Adebayo further stated that his name had been replaced by another candidate that was recommended by a notable political office holder whom he had known who lived within his state.
He wasn’t happy about the turn o event, as he had spent twelve thousand Nair worth of fuel and had also risked his life on high speed only to be cheated.

You’re invited for Commissioners’ interview @ the Civil Serv. Comm. which will hold from Weds 12th February, 2020. Come for your Commissioners’ interview invitation and time table as from tmrw, 11th Feb. from 10am @ Appointment department.
I actually woke up to this above text on my phone yesterday morning , the 11th of Feb. and drove down to Ekiti from Lagos.
A journey that was supposed to take approximately 5hours drive, but i was able to cover up in not more than 3hours(you can imagine the risk right!) just to make sure i do every necessary thing required of me before the interview.
On getting to the commission, i realized my name wasn’t on the pasted list, so i decided to inquire from one of the Admin officers.
He checked from the master list and looked straight into my eyes in a displeasure manner, shake his head in a pity mood and told me “SORRY, THE TEXT YOU RECEIVED WAS BY ERROR”, you are not qualified.
Behold, my name had been replaced by another candidate that was recommended by a notable politician/political office holder.
The one and only political office holder that i know within the state wasn’t even picking up my calls, neither was he responding to my text
When will things like this stop in Nigeria?
When will Nigeria start employing people on merit?
Enough is enough!!!
If i didn’t receive the text, i wouldn’t have been bothered. I wouldn’t have wasted 12 thousand Naira to be in Ekiti. I wouldn’t have put my life on risk of high speed.
Anyways, i just think i should put this on facebook for future reference and to serve as a public notice that our government are only offering employment to people they know and not those who are merited.
