Uncollected PVCs set ablaze in Abia State.

Unknown persons broke into the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office, in Abia State and set on fire several uncollected Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, on Sunday. 

Mr. Joseph Iloh, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, made this known today, 3rd of February, in Abia State.

He further added that about 15,000 uncollected PVCs were set ablaze as well as registers containing the number of registered voters.

However, Mr Joseph Iloh, said the Commission has the authentic list of registered voters at its headquarters in Umuahia, the state capital.

The incident, is under investigation by the Police and they have assured that the perpetrators of the crime will be properly dealt with.

With the elections around the corner, this incident will be carefully addressed to avoid future occurrence.
